Taylor Swift Called Out Kanye West In Her Grammy Acceptance Speech

Taylor Swift won the Album of the Year for 1989 last night at the Grammys, becoming the first ever woman to win that prestigious award twice.

In her acceptance speech, she took the chance to address the controversy surrounding Kanye West’s song, and the lyric: “I feel like me and Taylor might still have sex. Why? I made that b*tch famous”.

She spoke out when the lyric first surfaced, saying that she hadn’t approved the lyric, or its strong misogynistic message, and now, in her acceptance speech, she’s hit out at Kanye again:

“As the first woman to win Album of the Year at the Grammys twice,I want to say to all the young women out there, there are going to be people along the way who will try to undercut your success or take credit for your accomplishments or your fame.

But if you just focus on the work and you dont let those people side-track you, some day, when you get where youre going youll look around and youll know that it was you and the people who love who put you there. That will be the greatest feeling in the world.”
